Behaviorally Informed Infrastructure Intelligence

Interdisciplinary Transportation & Society (ITS) Laboratory

About Us

The ITS Lab, directed by Dr. Kailai Wang, develops behaviorally informed infrastructure intelligence to understand how people, emerging technologies, and infrastructure systems interact. We integrate behavioral modeling, artificial intelligence, spatial analytics, network science, and optimization to understand behavioral change, predict its system-level consequences, and support better infrastructure design and management. Current application domains include sustainable freight and energy systems, cyber-physical infrastructure resilience, emerging mobility and travel behavior, and accessible and livable cities. Through research and education, we prepare the next generation of researchers and practitioners to design infrastructure systems that are more adaptive, resilient, sustainable, and responsive to human needs.
